    Hi there,

I am maintaining six CAT 3520 nat gas engines that have been notorious about valve failure.  We had 12 occasions in the past 3 years when one of the exhaust valve heads has dropped into the cylinder.  We have checked everything and have not found any problem.  but it keeps coming back on different cylinders on different engines.  Does anyone have experience on this?

    thanks,
    Csaba

I am happy to note that finally we will be able to share our concerns regarding caterpillar engines with someone who is well qualified. I have been using caterpillar engines over the last 15 years and in my view they provide maximum value for money. But two months ago I bought a CAT 3516 and it has now started giving me problems related to overheating. It will work for five hours at a stretch and after that it will automatically shut down because of overheating. Can anybody please let me know where the problem is?
